If you are planning on staying a while in one of the lovely Siesta Key beachfront rentals, then you will want to plan out your meal options. And there are quite a few of them here. Whether you choose to stay in and cook, order take-out or go out to eat, you will never find a shortage of delicious restaurants in Siesta Key.
However, there is one restaurant that you simply must check out, and it is called The Toasted Mango Café. So, why should you make at least one stop there? There are plenty of reasons. Keep reading and you will find out exactly why people are raving over The Toasted Mango.
Who Runs The Toasted Mango?
As it happens, The Toasted Mango, which was established in 2011, is owned and operated by two gals who used to wait tables in order to support their families. These ladies eventually saw that there was a need for artistry in the restaurant world. To them, the diner’s experience is everything, and their dedication shows.
Their food gets served quickly, just as you ordered it. And the whole place just seems happy. They truly are a family-owned and operated business since their children come in to help on the weekends.
The Atmosphere
As already stated, the whole café exudes warmth and happiness. You’re likely to strike up a good conversation with the wait staff, and your food will be served with a smile.
Oh, did we mention that they are dog-friendly? You can bring your beloved pooch and enjoy a meal on their full-service patio. Some restaurants in Siesta Key won’t allow it, but dogs are well-loved and well-treated here!
The Menu
The food really makes The Toasted Mango one of the best breakfast and dining spots in Siesta Key. Starting with the breakfast menu, you will find some delicious twists on your favorite breakfasts – and you bet that a lot of them contain mango! The Toasted Mango Waffle is an absolutely mouthwatering delight. This Belgian-style waffle is topped with toasted coconut, fresh mango, and real whipped cream. Fans of oatmeal should try the Slow Cooked Homemade Oatmeal, which is made with brown sugar. There are raisins on the side for those who can’t have oatmeal without raisins.
The lunch menu is just as scrumptious to behold. The Roasted Turkey Mango Wrap is a ‘must’ if you love turkey. The turkey is roasted in-house and comes with lettuce, fresh avocado, jack cheese, and their special mango salsa.
For those who are vegetarian or vegan, you can opt for dishes like the Nutty Thai Quinoa Salad, which meat-lovers can get and add shrimp or chicken. This place even makes quesadillas! Steak, shrimp, or chicken – you can get a delicious whole wheat quesadilla topped with sliced avocado, freshly made pico de gallo, and sour cream. What better way to spend a beach vacation than by coming back and ordering something different every day or two?!
Where is The Toasted Mango Located?
There are two Toasted Mango locations in Sarasota, so you can take your pick between which one you want to visit. Either way, they’re both within close proximity to a number of Sarasota condo rentals.
The downtown café is located on N Tamiami Trail, which is on the corner of 41 & 5th St, putting them just north of Fruitville Road. This location is open every day of the week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Siesta Key location is on Midnight Pass Road, just south of Stickney Point Road in the Crescent Plaza. It is also open 7 days per week from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., save for in the summer, when it closes at 2:00 p.m. every day.
When you run out of beach vacation dinner ideas, head on over to either one of The Toasted Mango Café’s locations. They do get pretty busy, so you might want to get there early for a good seat. The breakfasts and lunches are both utterly divine!
