It’s Always Summer in Sarasota County

There is a reason why Florida is one of the top summertime travel destinations in the country. Millions flock to the shores of Florida, admiring the many attractions, year-round warm weather, and a wide variety of things to do and see.

Sarasota County is home to some of the best summertime fun in the state. But what makes it special? What gives Sarasota its stunning power to pull in tens of thousands of eager visitors every year? It has to be more than nice weather.

It certainly is.

There is a reason why Florida is one of the top travel destinations in the country. Sarasota County is home to some of the best summertime fun in the state.

Why People Smile

Sarasota County has a high standard of living. Call it the island life or call it good year-long weather, but the reality is that people in Sarasota are happy and content. You can see it on their faces as they explore the area’s top shops, like the famous St. Armands Circle. You can see it in the character of the city. Simply look at all the local-centric shops and the lack of corporate spots. Sarasota is proud of its uniqueness, and locals and visitors happily support local businesses. With numerous annual events, like the Fourth Fireworks and Pride Fest, Siesta Key is filled with entertainment all year round.

Average Temperatures of Siesta Key

Sarasota county’s best place to visit is almost certainly Siesta Key. It attracts the most attention for its famously white sand beaches and its many beachside things to do, like parasailing, snorkeling, banana boat riding, and more.

Siesta Key is gorgeous. Unlike the larger cities during the summer, like Orlando and Tampa, Siesta Key is small enough where it doesn’t hold a lot of heat. The wind blows over from the Gulf of Mexico, and the lack of many tall buildings helps keep the air flowing peacefully even when the average Florida temperatures are in the 90s.

The average temperature during June, July, and August, only scratches at 90 degrees. Typically, you can expect it to stay in the mid-80s, with lows in the 70s and highs in the upper 80s.

Beaches and Parks Are Better in the Summer

If you take a big look at the beaches and state parks of Sarasota throughout the year, you notice a few themes. While the beaches are popular all year long, the winter season sees a noticeable drop-off. This is great for a romantic escape, especially when the crisp wind blows and you can hold a loved one tight as you hold hands along the beach. But it is not ideal for everyone, especially those looking for the sun to keep them warm.

This is exactly why the beaches are better during the summer. The wind from the Gulf of Mexico helps keep things surprisingly cool even during the hottest days in the heart of summertime. There’s also plenty of people playing and bouncing around in the water. Kids can find plenty of friends and you can find plenty of people to chat with!

The parks are also wonderful during the summer. Travelers come from all over to fill up the playgrounds. Local kids are also out of school so your children will never be short of kids to run around with! You can also play with your kids at Sarasota parks.

While the wind keeps the beaches cool during the summer, the shade helps keep the parks nice and cozy.

This is what makes summertime fun- lots of kids running around with yours, plenty of cool Siesta Key playgrounds to visit, and people to help make it all the more energizing.

We love Sarasota during the summer. We love how it seems to sparkle with enthusiasm, while visitors and locals alike are reinvigorated by the epic summer season. These are all good reasons to call Sarasota your home during the summer, even if it is just for a bit. You never know- once you settle on the beaches of Siesta Key, you may never want to leave!

Sarasota’s beaches and parks are consistently admired and used and its year-round weather is consistent. If you consider the lovely year-round weather, the big southern smiles on everyone’s faces, and the cooler averages during the summer compared to the rest of Florida, it may always seem like summer in Sarasota.
