The Orange Octopus is a family run and owned ice cream, coffee, bagel, and sweets shop that provides handmade treats crafted from only the finest ingredients. The shop is locally renowned and a favorite among tourists for its incredible flavors. Located less than two miles from Siesta Beach, it manages to avoid the hustle and bustle of crowded downtown, providing an inviting and family-friendly atmosphere.

Ice Cream

Orange Octopus’ trademark product, its ice cream, it made by self-taught, hands-on, and passionate ice cream experts. These experts create slow-churned, in-house batches of ice cream to provide every customer the creamiest cone possible. Twenty-four flavors are available in cups, cones, and sundaes, providing you plenty of reasons to keep coming back! And if you can’t make up your mind (don’t feel bad – we can’t either), you’re welcome to take some for later.

Classic flavors include vanilla, strawberry (made with real strawberries!), pistachio, coffee, cookies ‘n cream, Dutch chocolate, and butter pecan. All are crafted with care and perfect options for those who prefer classic ice cream.

Adventurous tasters will be excited by an array of more unique recipes. Gator Tracks is made of vanilla ice cream with crushed Reese’s peanut butter cups and chocolate swirls. Birthday Cake includes cake batter ice cream with chunks of homemade cake and swirls of frosting and sprinkles. Blue and pink swirled cotton candy ice cream is available.

There is also Superman, sweet cream ice cream in swirls of red, yellow, and blue. And yes, Orange Octopus does offer real bourbon ice cream, combined with clover honey and pecan praline to form the famous Kentucky Honey Bourbon. The in-house specialty, The Orange Squeeze, which combines vanilla ice cream with fresh orange juice, is highly recommended as it truly gives a taste of Florida.

Orange Octopus is located at 1220 Old Stickney Point Road, near Captain Curt’s Crab & Oyster Bar, across the street from Crescent Market. It is just two miles of Siesta Beach and near southbridge, away from the tourist-concentrated downtown. The shop is open from 11 am to 10 pm, so come on by, get out of the heat, and cool off with a freshly-made batch of our homemade ice cream!
