Our Siesta Key condos are just steps from some of our top picks for restaurants, so you can grab a delicious meal any time of the day. Peppertree’s top three tasty restaurants in Siesta Key Village are the Old Salty Dog, the Daiquiri Deck, and Café Gabiano.

The Old Salty Dog restaurant has all the major island standards - chicken wings, calamari, hand-cut onion rings, crab dip, and a wide array of extravagant burgers.

The Old Salty Dog

The Old Salty Dog restaurant is such a fun place to let loose. The décor is covered in dog-themed memorabilia and fishing gear. This Siesta key waterfront pub has all the major staples of a rambunctious yet family-friendly locale on the water. There’s live music, featuring everything from bluegrass to rock and roll, as well as special events and drink specials. The restaurant sits under a cabana-styled roof. Indulge in all the major island standards- chicken wings, calamari, hand-cut onion rings, crab dip, and a wide array of extravagant burgers.

The restaurant lives up to its name. The Old Salty Dog is dog-friendly, and guests are always open to take full advantage of it. You can always find a pooch or five hanging up by the water. If you come by for the afternoon, you can make time for some shopping in Siesta Key.

The Daiquiri Deck in Siesta Key has a bold party atmosphere on this epic waterfront dockside eatery.

Daiquiri Deck

Daiquiri Deck is a fantastic evening complement to the Old Salty Dog. This is not to say that it is a night club or that it isn’t family-friendly, but there’s definitely a bold party atmosphere on this epic waterfront dockside eatery. Frozen daiquiri specials are common, including the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily Happy Hour. It regularly stays open to midnight throughout the week. It is famous for its eclectic oyster menu, menu items including Apalachicola Oysters, the Deep Bay Oysters from British Columbia, and even the special Kumamoto Oysters from Japan.

The menu is no slouch outside of a plate of oysters. Guests regularly dig into the deck wraps, twin shrimp and scallop skewers, Florida gator bites, thick Coconut Shrimp, and the weighty Surf and Turf.

It is all held together by a pseudo-industrial design, with splashes of colorful Old Florida décor. The end result is this really mesmerizing ambiance to sip on heavy drinks and admire the breezy waterside.

Day-trippers can also head over to Sarasota to find another location. This Daiquiri Deck sits in the popular tourist spot, St. Armand’s Circle.

If you want to lose a little of that casual waterside energy for some gorgeous and rustic fine dining, Café Gabbiano delivers dazzling décor and a diverse wine menu with some delightful cheese selections.

Café Gabbiano

Café Gabbiano is, in some ways, the total opposite of both the OId Salty Dog and the Daiquiri Deck. The restaurant is an upscale Italian eatery. If you want to lose a little of that casual waterside energy for some gorgeous and rustic fine dining, Café Gabbiano delivers. While the dazzling décor is a big part of the appeal, there’s a jaw-droppingly diverse wine menu, some delightful cheese selections (i.e. goat cheese, blue cheese, and warm brie), and a varied menu of hand-rolled gnocchi, squid ink shrimp, lasagna, and filet mignon. The Branzino, a Mediterranean Sea bass, is an epic menu highlight. Interestingly, all selections are available to go if you want to take it all back to your rental for a romantic night in.

There are countless more dining options in Siesta Key, but these three destinations are some of the best. Luckily, our Siesta Key condo rentals are just a short distance away, so you can experience all the great food you want in several Siesta Key restaurants.
